Kolesar & Leatham proudly announces that James Patrick Shea has joined the firm as Shareholder and Chair of the Creditors’ Rights, Financial Restructuring, and Bankruptcy Group. Jim has more than 35 years of experience advising financial institutions, landlords, vendors and other creditors in business bankruptcy proceedings. Jim also advises clients in commercial litigation relating to debtor-creditor relationship. He assists clients in enforcing their rights inside and outside of insolvency proceedings, including reorganizations, liquidations, receiverships, and informal out-of-court resolutions.
Jim is nationally recognized in the field of commercial insolvency and reorganization and is the former president and current chairman of the board of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). Jim is the founding chairman and current vice chairman of the State Bar of Nevada’s Bankruptcy Law Section, served as co-chair of the Ninth Circuit Lawyer Representatives for the District of Nevada while serving the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference Executive Committee.
