Overview

Matthew Whittaker practices in the areas of general civil litigation, premises liability, insurance defense, bankruptcy, real estate and commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Kolesar & Leatham, Mr. Whittaker practiced primarily in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense at a mid-size firm representing both local and national clients. During the course of his career, Mr. Whittaker also spent time clerking in the Appellate Unit of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office drafting extensive appellate briefs for a wide variety of cases from minor crimes to complex death penalty cases.

Mr. Whittaker received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science in 2010 from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Thereafter, he returned to his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ William S. Boyd School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate. During law school, Mr. Whittaker interned at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office and Clark County District Attorney’s Office.
