Mr. Forstadt comes to Nevada after 30 years of practice in New England.
Mr. Forstadt practices primarily in the field of civil litigation with an emphasis on all aspects of commercial relationships, lender’s liability, commercial workouts of problem loans, real estate matters including foreclosures, priority disputes and inverse condemnation, and insurance defense. He also has considerable experience in shareholder disputes and banking/customer relationships.
Developed over a long career of actual trial work, his experience ranges from inter-corporate governance issues such as the fight for control of the Titanic RMS Corporation, to multi-million dollar franchise and business litigation and sophisticated commercial construction issues.
His use of computer visualization and presentation in commercial litigation has been cited in such national publications as Bloomberg Financial.
His cases have been discussed in national magazines of public interest. He has also lectured on the “Nuts and Bolts” of civil litigation and been a panel member of television and bar-related presentations of “Justice and the Courts.”
Mr. Forstadt served as Chairman of the Bench/Bar Committee, Panel of Arbitrators, American Arbitration Association (1984 – 1985) and as a member of its Board of Directors (1988 – 1989). From 1975 – 1980, he was a member of the Connecticut Advisory Committee, U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He also served as Attorney Trial Referee, State of Connecticut, Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General and Special Master, Federal Bar.
Mr. Forstadt graduated from University of North Carolina, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1968 and his Juris Doctor in 1970.
