James B. MacRobbie practices primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and commercial litigation before all State and Federal courts in Nevada and California.

Mr. MacRobbie represents lenders, creditors, trustees, and creditors’ committees in both litigation and transactional matters within the context of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcies. He also has experience in representing non-profit corporations, particularly churches, colleges, and universities, in various litigation and bankruptcy matters. Mr. MacRobbie has also represented a wide variety of individual and corporate clients in commercial litigation matters including shareholder derivative, RICO, partnership, franchise, unfair competition, business tort, and contract actions.

Mr. MacRobbie received his Juris Doctorate from the University of  Texas School of Law in 1996. Mr. MacRobbie also received a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Chicago in 1991. A native of San Diego, California, Mr. MacRobbie received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Diego State University, summa cum laude, in 1988.

Mr. MacRobbie is admitted to practice before all State and Federal District Courts located within California and Nevada, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is also a Member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Clark County Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the National Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum. He was selected as one of In Business Las Vegas’ Lawyers Who’s Who 2010. He is also a frequent speaker and on bankruptcy and related litigation topics, including the Nevada State Bar’s CLE seminar on business bankruptcy practice.
