David Clayson has focused his practices in the areas of civil litigation, employment, and administrative law. He has focused his experience on complex litigation in tort and product liability, catastrophic injury and damage cases, professional liability (medical, legal, dental, chiropractic and accountant), insurance law, premises liability, construction defect litigation, and general commercial litigation. He is recognized as a skillful trial lawyer who has obtained favorable verdicts in jury and bench trials in Clark County and Washoe County, Nevada, as well as in federal court. He is also well-respected in the community as being aggressive in efficient resolution of complex and difficult matters.
Mr. Clayson is in his 29th year of practice and is admitted, licensed and actively practices in federal and state courts in the state of Nevada, as well as before the United States Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit federal courts. He has also been appointed to be a Nevada Short Trial Pro Tem Judge and retained as a mediator and arbitrator for binding arbitrations. He is continually in demand as an instructor for continuing legal and insurance education classes and regularly makes presentations to insurance groups, hotel and casino industry groups, as well as risk management associations on a variety of legal topics.
During the course of his career, Mr. Clayson has been a partner in several law firms as well as chief trial attorney for staff legal counsel for an international insurance company. In these capacities, he supervised the work of others and participated in formulating new and effective methods for streamlining the work to make it more efficient and effective.
